So! I am done with my two weeks of induction. I am ready to add a little more variety. Some days I think I can probably keep it around 20 gms of carbs a day, but will allow myself up to 25 this week and see how it goes.

So, my question is - Do I still now worry a little more about calories? I recall everyone saying that calories didn't matter that much during induction. After induction, can I still lose with 10-12 times my weight?

I had a Crystal Light yesterday and some strawberries and whipped cream - yum! I am going to like having a little more choice now.

Hiya,

Well done on getting through induction!

Don't worry about calories still. Just make sure you only eat until full - never over full and you will do fine.

What some people find is that when you get close to goal (within 10lbs) then you need to do a whole lot of tweeking, including thinking about calories cabecasue losses often slow right down to a crawl.

Otherwise keep doing what you are doing plus adding in a few more carbs - 5 per week until you reach your CCLL

Good luck

Lesley

Yup, what Lesley said. Remember that Atkins give you a metabolic advantage and calories don't matter as much. You will still be in fat-burning mode and shouldn't have to do anything differently.

I will warn you though, when people go off induction, weight loss slows. This is okay! It's not healthy to lose more than a pound or two a week, especially when you don't have that much to lose (in relation to some others). After induction I didn't lose for a couple weeks, but it was just my body recuperating from the intial loss and then it started up again at a nice snail's pace. Much better for you that way, anyway!

Enjoy your variety! OWL is really the test of this WOE. Once you master the ability to choose the right foods, you'll be set for life.

Hi,

I agree with the others. Just wanted to add this: the weight loss will slow down, but the process of burning fat will not. I haven't lost any weight in 4 weeks now, but I'm losing inches like crazy and I'm close to giving away all my pants...
As Angela said: enjoy more legal foods, stick to the plan and watch your progress!
BTW, I eat 10-12 x my CURRENT weight in calories and 70-77% of fat evey day.
Hope to see you around!
Alina
