Unhappy Stomach pains & Vomiting

Hey everyone!

I've been on Atkins for 6 wks, it's going well except for when I try to eat foods with high starch content, like my grandma's roast potatoes, rice and bread. When I do (3 occasions) I get severe low back pain stomach cramps, vomiting and sometimes diarrehea. I've ruled out food poisoning because other meal mates have been fine, my doctor completely dismissed the change in diet idea but I'm not so sure. Also I am in search of a low carb friendly doctor in Christchurch, New Zealand or at least some clue as to how to find one.

Any ideas greatly appreciated. Cheers

Lee Anne

Six weeks and your doctor has done no testing???

This is not common carb withdrawal symptoms.. it sounds like you have some kind of intestinal virus?

Talk to your doctor again.. please.
