Default Menstruation related to lighter Ketostix?!

Ello... this is my 17th day of induction. I have lost 10 pounds and about 5 inches total from several areas.

Anyway... I started peeing on those nice little ketone sticks on my fourth day. Up until a couple of days ago, I always got a "large" result. Or in between moderate and large. Now I'm at moderate, and even though it's fab that I'm in ketosis... uh well... I kind of wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that my body pulled one of those "sudden locarb menstruation" deals.

(I'm glad I checked out some posts about that, since I was wondering why the heck I suddenly got my period 2 weeks early!)

Just to note, I DO test at the exact same time every day. I don't believe I've had any more water in the past few days than usual. I haven't changed any eating or exercise habits.

So what gives? Why would this drop suddenly? Has the period and the diminishing ketostick results happened to anyone else?

Thanks!
Meagan

(p.s. I read about the so-called hidden carbs in the Atkins bars and shakes. I have a real hard time believing those bars have 18g hidden carbs in them and I still lost 10 lbs in two weeks while having one of those delicious shakes almost every morning! They claim that one must subtract the glycerin content, because it is not burned the same way "bad" carbs are. )
