Question Does the fiber make fitday's %'s off, for Atkins?

OK, I am on day 12 and really trying to let fitday help me plan my day. I learned here that in addition to keeping the carbs down to a certain # (I am a nursing mom so I am doing around 30 g healthy carbs and no funny stuff, just veggies and fruit), you should aim for a % breakdown of roughly 70% fat, 5% carb, and 25% protein.

So if you eat a carb that is high in fiber, and you can subtract that fiber # from total carbs, what about those %ages? Would they not show an artificially high carb %?

Also, does the 5% carb only apply to induction? Since I have to start with OWL, do I aim for a slightly higher % of carbs, or is the 5% what we should aim for all our lives??

Thanks so much!
Yaelle

Hi!

>>"Would they not show an artificially high carb %?"

No - those percentages are based on calories. Fiber has zero calories.

HTH!
