Question why didn't my freind lose weight???

She just finished induction, was very strict, has 100 or so pounds to lose but she didn't loose anything after induction. She is diabetic, could this make a difference?

Any advice?
What should she do?

The diet isn't about being strict. It is about following the plan. For instance, did she eat her veggies like she was suppose to? What about water? Caffiene? Low carb bars? Protein shakes?

Or it could be ...
How often had she dieted in the past. Was she a yo-yo dieter? How old is she.

Many things can and do affect how fast or slow we lose. None of us can predict what someone else's weight loss is going to be and that is why we always stress not to compare yourself to what others have lost.

It could be she has a very resistant metobolism that is going to need some work. Dr Atkin's does cover this in his book in detail. Honestly the diet is more than losing weight. It is controlling blood sugars and other health benefits.

My recommendation to your friend is tell her to stick with the plan at least 3 months before giving up on it. Tell her to re read her book on the chapter that covers resistant metobolisms.
