Smile Yes, it works

I've been checking in on this site for a few months now, and I'd like to introduce myself.

My name is Bruce, and I am 26 years old, from Halifax Nova Scotia. I was told about this diet last year, and decided to look into it. My father is a type 2 Diabetic, and I was facing the same path. I was 315 pounds in February 2002, and am happy to say I am now 205 pounds (January 2003).

I've been this weight now for a few months, as the christmas season has taken it's toll. I literally lost 110 pounds in the first 8 months on this diet. If you can understand how the whole thing works, and learn about how your body reacts to the different foods we eat, you can meet great success. Even by going off the "diet", I maintained my weight. That's because it isn't a diet, it's a way of thinking.

Ignore the ignorant people on your way to your goal. This is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. Good luck, and hopefully you can all find the same things from this as I have.

hello ColbyJax and welcome to the board - so glad you have decided to post. You have done WONDERFULLY and are 81% of the way to your goal. It is great that you decided to share your experience and obviously you know how to do LCing really well. You belong in the "Success Stories" section.

Would you consider starting a journal so people could see how you eat and how you manage the problems that arise in daily living? Just go to the j"My Low Carb Journal" area in the C-D section (Journals are organized by board name) and read the How to Start a Journal stickie.

I'll look forward to reading your posts. Success is infectious; spread the germ!
