Default ? about a snack

I've been on induction for about 4 days now and I've been looking for a good snack. I found these sausage snacks made by Schneiders. It's just like a peperoni stick.

The ingredients both sugar and dextrose but the nutritional information list them as:

Per 48g or (6) sticks

Energy - 260
Protein - 9.6
Fat - 23
Carbs - 3.6

So that would make them about 0.6 carbs per (1) stick.

My question is..... Is that right? I didn't think things with sugar and dextrose could be that low in carbs.

It depends on the amount of sugar used in the food, Krimick. The numbers add up (you can do them yourself if you're curious = 1g of fat = 9 calories, 1g of carbs and 1g of protein = 4 calories each, so the total is 260; you can also punch anything you're not sure of into the Hidden Carb Inspector under Low Carb Tools across the top of every page in orange highlight).

What you have to be careful with when dealing with this kind of food are the sodium and the nitrates - both can cause stalling for some. Sodium can also cause water retention - so double up on the water if you do indulge. But as an odd 'snack'? Nothing wrong with it!
