Question how to test body fat?

i have tried numerous on-line "body fat calculators" and have come up with numbers ranging 39 - 52! my BMI doesn't vary much more than 37-39 but the body fat is harder to pin down.

does anyone have a good test to measure fat at home?

Hi Michelle,

You can get calipers to measure body fat, but from what I've read they, too, vary and may be no more accurate than the online calculators.

The consensus seems to be that yes, they vary from each other, but to keep using the same one. That way, while the test may or may not be strictly accurate, it will be consistent and you will be able to measure that downward trend.

There's a bit more info on measuring body fat on this thread: Body fat percent calculator.

HTH!
