Question How bad was I?

This Saturday I was at the movies and gave in to my cravings for popcorn. I got the smallest there was and did not put "butter" on top, just a little salt. I ate about 2/3 of the bag. When I weighed in this morning I was on track for my weekly 2 lbs. weight loss. My SO teased that I would have lost more had I not had the popcorn. My take is that I can have popcorn once in a while and still lose weight. Exactly how bad was I?... How many carbs in a bag of movie theater popcorn? (Pacific Theatres)

Popcorn isn't that bad for carbs. the problem is they are very high GI carbs. Read up on the glycemic index and the glycemic load. When you are in the later stages of OWL and premaintanance, an occasional small serving of popcorn should be ok. Remember a serving of popcorn though (if I remember right) is only a cup. The movie theaters usually have about 10 servings or more a bag.

I think that if you and your SO can find the time to go out together, enjoy a nice lc dinner and catch a flick that's great!! If you have been sticking true to the woe, once or twice a month you should be able to have that one pleasure. It kinda goes with the whole theme of the evening...doing things that make you feel good. A special companion, a good meal, some entertainment ...enjoy the little bit of popcorn! This is a way of life and we have to make it liveable. The next morning you get up, brush your teeth and reach for the WATER!! Your friend. Get back to the woe and keep on keepin' on!!
