Question Uk- polos/mints/gum etc...

Hi I love my gum and mints but I looked today on some gum in a shop it says there are 65gms of carbs per 100gms....Is this net carbs? (the gum was sugar free if that helps)...Does anyone know of any gum/ mints I can have whilst on Atkins

hiya kerryanne, i'm in the UK and i am in the same boat as you..

look at the packet, and it'll say something like:

carbs 65g (o which sugar 0g, polyols 65g)

as far as I understand from the atkins book, polyols are not counted as carbs and therefore you're ok to count no sugar mints and no sugar polos as zero carbs..

as to how good these are for you is a different matter, but i've found they havent slowed my weight loss down, not to say they wont in the future tho..

i work in close contact with people, and the last thing i want is to have dragon breath, so they help me a lot..

hope this helps, and PLEASE GUYS, if i'm wrong correct me..

Tony
