Besides the laxative effect and the stall potential from sugar alcohols .. I'd be concerned about triggering old addictions and cravings for more and more sweets. Did you used to eat candy every single day .. did you eat 2 candy bars daily?
Just like candy bars made from sugar, these have NO nutrition in them ... but lots of empty calories. One small 1 oz. bar can have 200 calories.
Are you eating the candy instead of a meal of real food with protein?
It's not a good habit to get into .. and if it's an old bad habit come back to haunt, it would be good to get it under control before it controls you .. again Those sugar-free candies and chocolates are like low-carb methadone.
I agree it would be best to save these for a special treat occasionally. Since you're well into OWL, and losing weight successfully .. you might consider having a piece of fruit .. maybe a small apple or pear. That might satisfy your sweet tooth. Yes, it will have more carbs .. but it will provide mored satieity and nutrition for you.
