Default diet supplements

as I read through here I keep finding all these posts about all different kinds of diet supplements. What are the top ones everyone uses. Right now I just take a multi-vit daily and calcium (hate milk) what else do I need to get when I start the diet to help me along. Most of this stuff I have never heard of and I'm a nurse. How do you find out about what supplements are best for you?

Electrolytes. When I take them I have a good day. If I miss them I have a bad day. The formulation I use includes chromium. Dr. Atkins himself could have designed the formulation.

Fitday does not differentiate alpha linolenic acid and related omega 3 fatty acids from other polyunsaturates. Research is showing that it is essential, yet there is no RDA because the amount needed hasn't been established. In the meantime, I have a tablespoon of flax oil or a serving of oily fish (sardines, tuna or salmon) every day.

One of the few manufactured foods I consume is ovaltine. That helps me get the milk down. A second is whey powder which is high in calcium, and helps me keep protein consumption up to the level recommended for the Zone diet.

Finally since I am in my forties but quite active, I take one glucosamine tablet to help with daily repairs.

I make sure I get Magnesium, calcium, and a good multivitamin in every day. Make sure you have Potassium in the multivitamin. I tried OneADay Weight Smart, but it did not have enought Potassium so I woke with leg cramps at night. Now I take Centrum Performance and everything is great.

I've taken calcuim (hate milk) and a Multi Vit everyday and have for years. I'll have to check the mag level and K+ level in those tho. I might have to up grade from the Wal-mart brand.

Any supplements that increase weight loss or anything good like that?
