Default Problem with Lispro/Humolog

This morning I woke up at 118, unusually high for me. So I took 6 1/2 units of Lispro (to deal with the rest of dawn phenomena as well as lower this high), as well as the other half of my Lantus (18 units). Two hours later, after drinking only coffee (my daily routine) I was still at 118. So took 4 units of Regular, which will always drop me. I am pretty certain that the Lispro is still good, opened just a couple weeks ago, and stored in fridge.

My question: Lispro frequently does not seem to have any impact on my blood sugars. Anyone have any experience with this?

Wow- you don't wait long for Humalog to kick in- I would wait for at least 3 hours before stacking more insulin.
That said- some people do have allergies to certain types of insulin. Have you tried Novolog or Apridra?

I was aware that it was a little close, but was home close to meter and tabs. Now three hours after taking the Regular only down to 109, cross checked with other meter. Usually if Lispro is going to work it does by 2 hours (and this is the first time I did not wait for the 3rd hour). And Regular normally kicks in the strongest at the 3 hour mark. I do not seem to have any infection which would be the most logical explanation, but we will see. By the way it is a fasting day, so aside from black coffee (and fish oil), nothing.
