afaik it's low carb versions of high carb products - eg stuff like chocolates where the sugar is replaced by sugar alcohols or other substitutions...
Alternatively I think it could mean highly-processed foods...

The actual meaning of a frankenfood is genetically modified food. On this site however, people use frankenfood to mean a highly processed unnatural food item (hot dogs or sugar free syryps are good examples)

To me the LC tortillas are ok because they just have flour and natural ingredients. What I consider frankenfoods are the ones that have been processed in a lab. The protien bars with high carbs that supposedly "don't count". The sugar alcohols that can reak havoc on the system. Some LC cereals, powdered milks and so on.

I limit myself. I lost all taste for the bars and will usually just have a morning one maybe in emergancy (haven't in 2 months or so) I do have some keto crispies I will have rarely as well. Most products though just are too expencive and aren't that tempting looking. I always think I can make better at home for less carbs and cheaper. (course the whole I'm lazy part means I rarely actuly make them)
