Unhappy Gotta have it!!!!

I need chewey hard and crunchy.... any ideas? (not veggies please) I get enough of those. But sometimes this WOE lacks good crunchy stuff. Can't have nuts yet.... I need to chew on something. My dog's love those rawhide strips...too bad they don't make those for people. ( kidding of course) But I really like things like the heel of the bread ( can't have it) hard rye crisp crackers ( don't think that is allowed either)

Thumbs up Crunchy

Check in the journal of rgale, she made some flaxmeal crackers that are really good (I tried them) and very low in carbs.

Make little piles of shredded parmesan and bake at 350 for approx 6-10 min. Makes "cheese crisps" that are great for salads (in place of croutons) or alone.

Also "Bran-a-crisp" crackers are very crunchy, only 4 net carbs per cracker. Really good with butter or something on top. They are on the Atkins book.

Hope it helps relieve the munchies!

I make cheese chips on a nonstick frying pan till it gets brown and crisp on both sides.

I need to blot the grease off though.

As much as I eat fat that is a bit too greasy for me lol.

You can make your own beef jerky

pork rinds are another option.

I eat pepperoni chips. I fry them till they are crispy and eat them like that (wtch the sodium though)

Anyone with cheese-n-snack-cravings might want to have a look at Sam's recipe for Sunflower and Parmesan Crackers, which she so generously posted in my journal.

About the carb count, she said: "How many carbs per cracker? It will vary with the size and thickness of your crackers. I get abut 6 dozen, each with just a trace of carbohydrates, a trace of fiber, and 1 gram of protein. But you can eat the whole batch for just 13 grams of usable carbs."
