Unhappy What do you eat when you don't feel well

For the first time since starting this WOL I don't feel well. The problem is that all of my regular "comfort/sick" foods are carbs! Bread, bagels, and that kind of stuff. I can't face the idea of protein or veggies. Please let me know what you eat when you feel punky.
Thanks-
E

Soup is a good comfort food for me...chicken soup with veggies maybe? Or just the broth if you really don't want the protein/veg? Hot tea is another good thing.

I have had a slight cold and a sore throat. Basically all I've been wanting is flax cereal and broth. I have been making myself eat at least 1 salad a day to keep up veggies.

I've also been using hot tea, decaf coffee with cream, and hot chocolate (diet swiss miss) to have warm comfort for my throat. For the bread part of comfort I dod go out and get some Atkins bagles, I've only had 1/2 of one though for dinner last night.

You might also try making up some of that tofu mac and cheese. i love the stuff and it is a great comfort food. It also goes down easy if you have a sore throat.

Hello,

I too broke down and bought some Atkins friendly bread. Its 6 grams of carbs per slice and its cinnamon raisin so its good with cream cheese. I think I have sun poisoning from yesterday and this is the only thing I really wanted to eat. I just pick at the rest of my meal.

I know this is gonna sound weird... but i love mashed cauliflower when I'm not feeling great.

Cook it well, and mash it with lots of butter and some cheese and cream, with some pepper. Remarkably like mashed potato.

Thanks for all the ideas. I'm sending my DH out for the bread right now. The soup, too. I think I'll pass on the cauliflower just now ( I have the queasies) but will keep it in mind.
