Default Not hungry--is this normal??

I am always hungry. But since starting Atkins, I have to FORCE myself to eat more than 1000 calories and 20 gr carbs a day. What causes this? Is it normal to feel this way or is this because I am still new and excited about the diet?

Yes, you're normal. The fat and protein make you feel satisfied, so your appetite dimishes. Make sure you're eating enough to crank your metabolism so that you don't stall.

AND, make sure to drink your water and exercise!! I tell this to everyone, but it's b/c the effects are so great.

I don't get hungry either... I have a refer full of food ... after I shopped I made several things so I would have them ready....now I don't want any of it......I look at it and think I shouldn't have made up so much....even all the veggies I bought ... I just don't won't to eat and have to make myself eat....does this ever change ???

It has to change when we go on maintenance - that's the really tricky part.

I had to start keeping track of calories on fitday.com so that I would eat at LEAST 1200 per day. Adding olive helped me get up to nearly 1400 today! Yeah!

Whew! Thanks guys for posting. I thought maybe I was getting a cold or something. I find it just incredible that one can eat such rich foods and lose weight AND not feel hungry. For the first time in over 10 years, I haven't snacked in the evenings. Instead I exercise! Two weeks ago i would never have bet anyone this is what I would want to do. lol
