A few years ago, I found my weight to be at 193. My son was born 6 months prior then my mom died and I got depressed and so on and so forth. Anyway, I started taking Metabolean which is a better form of the Metabolife and my weight loss was stunning!!!!! I went all the way down to 147 within like 6 or 7 months. I quit taking it and of course, I put about 13 pounds back on so now I am trying the Atkins plan and I am back on the Metabolean, I hope they work well together.

Take the time to google ephedrine and read some of the most current stories of heart attacks to young men who were using a type of ephedrine. Young marines, baseball players and such.
Roulette odds to me.

Low carb is a healty lifestyle with exercise and supplements that help not a quick fix drug buy. Be cautious.

I don't get it ....why would you do that to yourself. Would be like smoking or something. I though one of the reasons we lo carb is for our health.

My personal opinion is that we are a drug addicted society. If you're sad, pop a pill. If you're having trouble sitting still in class, pop a pill. If you're overweight, pop a pill. These pills only cover up problems, they don't solve them.

I have found that the Atkins diet has curbed my appetite and put an end to my cravings. I am losing weight at a reasonable rate- 13 pounds in 6 weeks. No other diet has ever worked this well. Plus, I am learning to eat healthier foods as well as how to maintain a healthy weight.

My advice is to try Atkins for 8 weeks first. If Atkins does the same for you why would you need any pills?

Atkins is so FAST, I don't understand it either.

Plus, uppers make me jittery and even more obnoxious than usual.

Uhmmm...its a very, very long thread with about 24 pages of posts. While I understand where some of you are coming from (there have been deaths and those people have taken ephedra), I think it would help to understand the place thermogenics have in the overall scheme of things. I don't think most of us who are taking them are doing so for the "magic pill" effect. I know personally, *I* am doing the work. I am eating right, exercising and take an ECA stack in order to enhance what I am doing. I don't rely on it and when I cycle, I plan to do twelve weeks on and twelve weeks off. There is also discussion about stacks that are ephedra free, so before making a blanket decision...its often better to research first

There's a lot of info and a lot of opinions on it. If they are not abused, I now believe thermogenics can be a grand tool for those who are working out. I was nervous to take them at first, but am now comfortable with what I am doing after much, much reading and research.

If you're going to take a thermogenic, make sure it is ephedra free - Ephedra can kill you!
