Question How many Veges??

I am new to this way of eating. Can anyone tell me what books about the PP i can pick up.
Also i just started this close to he holidays. I am trying to avoid my downfall which is Mashed Potatoes. I was going to substitute them for more veges. How many Veges can i have a day? I usually have a salad for lunch. Is that all i can have for veges.
Please help!

Pokey, you'll want to get a copy of Protein Power by the Eades. This is their first book and it covers the why's and how's of LC in much more detail than their second book "Protein Power Lifeplan". If you're interested right now, you can click on the link on the right hand margin "Which Low Carb Plan Is Right For Me?" and see a brief synopsis of the plan along with a sample menu.

Vegetables are a definite 'yes' on PP, with a higher carb allotment than Atkins (30g after you've subtracted your fiber) and the bulk of your carbs coming from high fiber vegetables you will not be lacking for them.

Two possible alternatives to mashed potatoes that you might be interested in are the mashed cauliflower in the recipe section of the forum and perhaps mashed sweet potaotes (sweet potatoes, despite their name are quite low on the glycemic index and do not negatively effect insulin levels the same way white potatoes do. Half a cup has 24g of carbs, 4g of fiber - for a special occasion such as Christmas / Thanksgiving, its a viable alternative)

Cheers,
Nat
