Default started atkins 6 days ago..

Hi, I 'm new to this forum...I have gotten passed the cravings ,but now what do I do? I'm bloated like I really didn't lose any weight.. but mereley gianed it..

I have afew questions...
breakfast sausage and bacon..Can I eat them in the morning and are they considered processed?

Can I eat eggs w/ egg beaters?

Also I have frozen hamburger patties, are they considered processed? They say 100% beef..?

I could really use your imput..If you need me to post my menu for today I will maybe it will be helpful to figure out what I'm doing wrong..

Hi! Glad to see you here!

Bacon and sausage are processed. You can have them, but limit your intake.

Eggs and egg beaters, yep....but whole eggs alone are better (I use the egg beaters in my shakes sometimes....just can't bring myself to use real eggs in that!

If they say 100% beef, they should be, it's the law....but look for an igredient label and check the carb count. Carb count should be 0.

The best thing for fluid retention is drinking more and watching your salt intake. If you feel bloated try cutting back on salt. (If you meatn your bowels, try adding fiber!)

Have you read any of the books? They're really helpful in figuring things out.

I totally agree with CindySue48...
When I first started Atkins, I was very constipated..Just make sure you drink lots and lots of water..I don't have any problem now..It takes some time for your body to adjust to your new WOE (way of eating)...Good luck, and again, welcome!

Hi guys,
I also have probems. I started almost 3 weeks ago and I have followed every rule for the Induction phase, I have not chitted at all!!!! I have lost 4.5 pounds, I seems to be very little for what I hear from other people.
I am using the ketosticks and I am only in light pink (traces).
Is my weight loss normal? How did you guys do at the begining?

Lulita - First of all, let me tell you, I've been where you are. It does get frusterating when you see others drop weight like crazy and you only drop 1 pound. In the last two months I've only dropped 4.5 pounds, and everyone is coming up and telling me how great I look, its amazing how much quicker you lose inches before the pounds start to drop. I am a firm believer in this article. Please take the time to read it, it gives some really good insight.

Wow Sunshine.
Now that was some great reading. Thanks alot. I am in exact same boat a lulita. Have lost 5 lb in 1st week of induction. nothing since. Today is 21st day. I will keep pluggin away. And now with a new sense of optimism.

Hey there 3xmommy,

I've eaten the sausage and bacon during induction. I just make sure there are no sugars and fillers, i also try and get the ones that say zero carbs. I use Smithfield brand.

Lulita-
Think you need to start a journal and post more on what goes on daily for you since thats it the only way people in the forum can gives their thought on your menus. People lose weight differently, my mom is starting her 4th week on Atkins and she has only lost 5lbs but has lost inches. You may want to consider taking your measurements also.
