Default Furry tonge

I have a furry tonge-did I spell that right?

I'm sure it's ketosis-just wondering if anyone else has this phenomenon? Also, the more water I drink, the dryer my tonge gets, especially at night. Course, I do sleep (and snore) with my mouth open....But , it doesn't matter cuz I'm losing, I'm losing and it feels GREAT!

I too have the "metal-mouth" which I consider to be a good sign of ketosis, and the thirst. Went off induction because I decided to "enjoy" a wine-tasting business function over the weekend..gained back 2 pounds too! Now back in induction, the pounds are gone again and the mouth is back. It's hard to believe that anything can be this cut and dried...but the "mouth" seems to be a good indicator of ketosis...do you agree, experienced LC people? I'm still 3 weeks new!

I have a slight furry tongue in the mornings, but truth be told, it was furrier when I used to wake up after eating my regular late night snacks of chocolate bars, pretzels and chips.

I also have the ketosis metal-mouth. I can taste it, but my DH swears he can't smell it. I don't seem to have the bad breath. Not that I'm complaining. Maybe it's all the water I drink.

You don't however want to be in the bathroom when I pee. Peeeouw!

Atkins mentions in the book, Candida Albicans which evidently inhabits the digestive tract of some people. Is that perhaps what you mean by furry, or do you simply mean that you have dry mouth?

If it is just dry mouth, keep some water with ice by the bed and have an occasional sip if the condition awakens you. I have to do that sometimes too.

Good Luck!
