Default Why does my weight go Up & down?

I got on the scale on Saturday was 151 in the morning. I get on the scale this morning for the official weighin and up by 2 lbs. What is going on? Do I take the 151? or do I go by official weigh in this morning?

Sometimes your weight can fluctuate and that is only cause for concern if you cheated. Now if there was no cheat then It could be water weight and I just wouldn't worry about it. I usually will do that and then the next day or the day after I will lose about 4 lbs.

squiroga01,

bgmama is right. If you have stayed on plan, then you should be ok, its probably just water weight. Just last week, I gained 3 lbs at the beginning of the week - but I didn't cheat and it came off (plus some). So just remember that your body is going to adjust and your weight will vary day to day - But you are heading in the right direction.

I usually just use the offical day weight - even if it is high. Don't worry though, your body may be hanging onto water, so just give it a chance to adjust.

Rick

I agree. Mine has done this the last few days. I have been up a pound most of the week and lost it back today. My weigh-in day is tomorrow and I am hoping to lose a pound at least.

I agree with everyone else. To keep from driving myself crazy I have got to where I weigh once a week, on the same day and time and that's it. Even then you can have some water weight differences so if you haven't cheated I wouldn't put that much faith in the scale.

There is an excellent chart of one of our members weight fluctuations here which illustrates that there will be fluctuations but a downward trend.

Do you really expect your progress to be all losses?

Some folks like to weigh themselves everyday and take the average. Whatever you do, remain objective about it. Don't let fluctuations ruin your day, or your resolve.
