Default help again

Hi all this is day seven and I need a little gee up.
I have only lost 2lb and that was in the first two days.I can honestly say with hand on my heart this is the first diet I have ever been on that I have stuck to it longer then a day.I have not cheated once and have only eaten very low carb food,This is the sort of thing I'v eaten. Breakfast two scrambled eggs with greated cheese. lunch green veg with chicken breast, more greens with meat for supper.I have cream in my coffee. do you think u can over do the cream thing? Should I cut it out this week and have black coffee(yuk).I have tryed to drink pleanty of water. I need to loose this weight before october or a good chunk of it . Please someone keep me going. Oh ya my sister sent me sticks to pee on and I am not in ketosis why after nearly a week.

Firstly Fiona take a deep breath and stop worrying.

What you are experiencing is quite common and nothing to worry about. You only have 27 pounds to lose and during induction they reckon on losing around 10% of that which is only 3 pounds, so having lost 2 pounds you are doing great.

The fact that the ketosticks do not seem to register that you are in ketosis is nothing to worry about. Mine every showed a trace anyway and it has not stopped me losing weight. In fact in most other plans no one worries about the ketosis angle at all.

I think that you are eating enough. You should have around 10 times your body weight a day, so eat around 1700 calories a day. You might want to check them in www.fitday.com to reassure yourself. If the calories appear high then reducing the cream might be a good idea. I only have 2 cups of coffee a day and now drink it black. Cream to me is a treat.

Keep the faith and give it time. You do not seem to be doing anything wrong. We are all different and lose weight at different rates. If you do a search on people who have not lost anything in induction you will find quite a lot of threads.

As Anne said - don't worry!! The sticks can be a pain, mine showed me in deep ketosis for 3 weeks and I didn't lose a pound. As for the cream, this week I started using Sunrise brand soya milk it's 0.4 carbs per 100ml and tastes really good (from Somerfields, £1.19 litre, with the long-life milk cartons).

Good luck and stick with it, this WOE is so good.

ps - drink that water!
