Im currently going through TOM and feeling extremely bloated. I haven't gone carb crazy though, but I have been drinking more diet soda and eating saltier foods than I usually do. I think I look like ive gained 10 pounds. Just water weight though... it will fall off soon and hopefully take a few extra pounds with it.

Also, I never use the scale the week before and during TOM. i think if i did i would freak..

Absolutely I bloat up after a carb frenzy AND TOM....put those two together...I can be up as much as 4-5 lbs!!!

Get back on track...stay away from those bad carbs...and once TOM is over hopefully you will see a loss

Sugar does that to me BAD! Before I got back on plan again recently, I was in a sugar frenzy, and to top it off we had some hot, humid days here, and I was miserable! My hands and feet were so swollen that I couldn't wear my rings or shoes. After just one or two days back on plan, the swelling was gone completely. Makes you wonder what else those carbs are doing to your innards!

I did induction about a week ago, and since then have been low carbing but have added veggies back in. I counted calories to ensure that I wouldn't gain when I came off induction but still regained 3 pounds.
However I have lost two of them since, and think that its just that your body's fluid levels go haywire when you up carbs. Specially if you hit sugar. After that the body rights itself again.

that's my experience anyway!

The body stores lots of water molecules with the glucose it makes from the carbs. That is what causes the large weight gain from eating the carbs. Reducing carbs back to a ketosis level will allow the body to burn the glucose which will release the water and give a rapid weight loss. Of course if you continue to eat losts of carbs the excess glucose will be converted to fats for storage.

Well, I haven't had a carb frenzy since I started on the 17th of May (fingers crossed ) but before I did go low carb my feet and ankles were always swollen by the end of the day. They don't do that anymore. Except this past week I've been getting some very mild swelling on my ankles but TOM is visiting
