Talking Cool site for support

Hi Everyone ,
I started atkins on Feb 13th. It has been a battle because I have been brained washed for the last 10years on low fat, a not to eat anything above 25% fat. I'm now used to low carbing and its so cool to eat fat again. I have dropped 10lbs in a little over two weeks and I might add it was very easy. The biggest challenge has been sugar. Owning my own restaurant I got to be a real coffe drinker. I would not be guessing when I say I would consume at least 16teaspoons a sugar a day just in coffee. Dont get me wrong, Im not that good, I still have to drink my coffee, but resort to spenda for sweetner. I have been following this forum for a couply weeks now, and thought I might as well join you all!

Welcome to the forum weird!

Aren't you happy that you don't have to worry about fat any more?

Sugar is a big bug-eye, but in time you won't think about it any longer. Is your wife joining you on this low-carb journey?

Karen

Welcome!
Hey- do you rent out any of those DVD's??? (Just kidding! )
I used to have about as much sugar as you used to in coffee, until about 12 years ago, my doctor put me on this HORRIBLE low fat, low calorie, low taste diet where I couldn't even have sugar substitute. It was winter, I needed something hot to drink, and I found I could tolerate unsweetened coffee far better than unsweetened tea! I still can't drink my coffee sweetened, just with cream.
Sounds like you're off to a good start!
