Default Tasting a tomato

I never realized how wonderful, and even sweet, a tomato tastes!

I had a couple of slices, and it was *so* good!

I really think carbs numbed my taste buds. Sugar, especially.

Now, when I taste something sweet, it is a totally different sensation. Things that used to be average are now terribly overpowering in flavor to me. I used to add 4 packets of Sweet N Low to my coffee. My daughter made me a cup yesterday, and didn't realize I no longer used it. I took one sip and was in shock! I couldn't *imagine* how I used to DRINK THAT!

I poured it out.

It is amazing, isn't it?

Default Green beans are sweet!!!

Yesterday was day 11 on induction. The fresh green beans at dinner were sweet!
I mentioned this to hubby. I ate lots of carbs and sugar before Atkins and I think my taste buds got used to the over sweet white sugar.

How wonderful veggies are when you can taste them!

Heheh. I agree with you! I used to look at eating veggies as something of a chore. Now, they are a pleasure!

LOL.....this thread just cracked me up.

However, I must attest, for me, eating veggies will NEVER be a pleasure, alas.......(I've never liked veggies as a kid; I still don't like them now, and I never will like them in the future)

I remember as a boy, I used to cry when my mother forced me to eat some veggies. LOL I don't cry now, but just try to drown them in lots of cheese sauce and swallow it hoping to never taste them just to get the ordeal over with.

Some people were just born to disdain the taste of all plant-like grown sustenance; unfortunately, I'm one one of them--the quintessential carnivore.
