Unhappy Bing = Breaking out?

So obviously i binged again. I really have a problem i know. I'm way beyond a sugar addict, I'm an emotional eater to the MAX...

My question is to those unfortunate few that still break out (acne style) if they've noticed that they break out LIKE NO OTHER after they bing or re-introduce sugar in their diet?

I dont know what the HECK i ate or did but I've NEVER broken out like this in my life. The answer is definitely not topical meds this breakout came from within.

I've read there being a link to people with sugar glucose intolerance in their skin that links acne to carboydrates....Plus when i was in my glory day in the early fall of NO BINGING and LCing it and LOVING it my skin looked AMAZING.

Anyone have any clue??

Sheesh, i just wish i could staple my mouth shut. These binges are less and less fun, and more and more painful, in some way or an other....

Bye LC Creewww

Jenn

I've broken out something fierce. A while ago I decided to add whipping cream, splenda and some berries at night for a treat, which certainly is allowed. Overnight, I turned into a 13 year old again. I didn't realize that's what it was and for the life of me, I started eliminating hair products, creams, thought it was the weather etc. Once I stopped with the sweet stuff, I cleared up and realized what it was, then last weekend, I had two glasses of red wine, and wham, here we go again. So, it must have something to do with sugar (however, whipping cream and splenda don't have it) - I'm certainly now staying away from anything suggary or sweet (I haven't drank wine in so long, but thought I'd have a treat - gonna give it up again too!)

Hello Jenn

I too have binged and slipped off the wagon - frnakly I don't know anyone who hasn't - forget it and get right back on.

This is my third attempt at Atkins - first time, was a bit half-hearted, second time I really was getting it (and lost 13 pounds), but for one reason or another lost the plot. This time I am just coming to the end of induction and feeling really positive. I'll get there and so will you.

Attaching a link to another area of the forum on Acne and Lo Carbing. I hope you find it useful.

Good luck

Vikki,
I have the same problem - my sweet tooth is very active, even while low-carbing. I'm fine as long as i stay away from artificial sweeteners.

My experience is that it takes fat to fight sugar cravings. if you are prone to breaking out like i am - eat a lot of olive oil. it has essential vitamins in there (naturally!) and it curbs the sweet tooth.
