Default I have a question about psyllium powder

I am terribly constipated. WIll using this help? Does it have carbs in it? Or can I use something else that has no carbs. I am desparate to loose this weight, but I am suffering big time with this particular problem

Yes, it will help and it's just what you should be taking. I use it myself. The one I have has a carb count of zero.

Increase the amount of salad items in your diet - this will also help.

Good luck.

I use Nature's Sunshine Psyllium Hulls, and it says it contains 8g of carbs but 8g of fiber, so I guess that means 0g net carbs. A friend also recommended Colace (Docusate Sodium). I found a generic brand called Equate, and it costs about 1/3 what colace cost. All it is is a stool softener. I hope you feel better soon!

As I used to suffer from constipation .

An occasional laxative won't hurt you either. I use an herbal laxative pill or a laxative tea occasionally, I've always had problems with my bowels. Just be sure you're home the next day. I do use psyllium, but I think I feel more bloated with it, because due to IBS I just don't work quite right. I haven't found the right combinations of foods or fiber supplements for my body. Perhaps there is no right combo for me.

I noticed in the first 2 weeks that I really needed the psyllium as well, but now I'm in my 5th week and don't need to take it any more. I think your body will adjuct, so you don't need to worry about becoming dependent on the psyllium.

Default constipation

Hi Glo .

I have also found if I am constipated I have a chocolate bar put out by Darrell lea as it is zero carb and sugar free , on the packet it says it may have a laxative effect . If I have the whole bar it does work .

Hope this helps , It's nice with a cup of decafe coffee . But stay home .

everyone... I haven't bought aythibg yet because I came down with pleurisey and have been horribly sick. I am still sort of doing the diet, still low crbs, but not eating enough calories as I am not very hungry at all. Still constipated and not happy, but I am sending DH out tonight to get some of this stuff. Thnk again
