Hello,, everyone very new here and would love some help.
I am into my 3rd day,, Atkins diet and as I am a pretty good cook,, I havent as of yet had a problem with menu's with looking at all the text that is right in front of my nose.. with wonderful people that get back to each other... you guys and gals are great..

My questions is everyone talks about Ketosis and as I have read about it am not sure I truelly understand and is it a strip that you test with and can you order off net... or drug store ?? If someone could let me know I would greatly appreciate it....

I also do have trouble eating all the food,, that is required,, I have never been much of a good eater...I am going to the gym 4 times a week,, doing nautilous and weights...and am trying to drink water,, yesterday,, I drank 1 quart and 1/2 thought I was doing great,, bloated today,,, dont dare weight myself...anyways thankyou for your help and I am going to try to get involved more...

I love reading on this forum very educational... I also joind Fitday,, cool site..

Well got to go,, talk later,,,drinking more water....

Thumbs up Ketosis

To test for Ketosis you use ketone stips (One Brand Name - Ketostix).
They are available over the countwer at drug stores in US and Canada. No prescription necessary, just ask druggist as sometimes they have them behind the counter.

There's a great article Ketosis and Ketone Test Strips on our Low Carb Tips webpage, from the orange menu bar near the top. Everything you ever wanted to know ..

Just a tip .. you might want to ease up a little with the vigorous exercise till Induction is over. Many new low-carbers find they get fatigued easily during this period of carb withdrawal and switching over to using ketones for fuel. Keep drinking lots of water, that will help.

Hey hotjam! Good to see that you reposted.

Before you get any deeper into this, it's really important that you read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution so you will have an in depth understanding of what you are doing. Otherwise, it's a lot like going on a trip without a road map and getting bad directions from the gas stations you stop at along the way.

There are no set amount requirements for food. You eat what you are comfortable with.
