Default How Much Cheese?

I am now starting to eat quite a bit of cheese in my diet, but have heard that it can cause stalls. So I am wondering how much cheese is acceptable daily? I realise there is YMMV factor here but on average is it about 4 oz or something?

Atkins Induction says 4 ounces of cheese per day. But after induction, you have to count the carbs and if your consumption increases, then watch to see if you stall. Dairy can do that for lots of people.

Well I'm not doing Atkins so I think I will just apply the general rule of about 4 to 5 ounces daily and to be honest I can't see myself eating that much since to me that is a lot.

Why does dairy seem to stall people? Is it just cheese or does butter cause a problem too?
