I was doing a bit of reading on ivillage and this info caught my eye.
wrote in my journal but thought it may be worth posting separately.

I thought my diet was pretty msg free till I read this. Then I found it in the consomme that I use for stock, and its even in the veg stock granules I get from the health food store

MSG can be found in bouillon, consomme, canned fish, canned meat salad dressings soups, sauces, teriyaki and soy sauce.

its other names are: hydrolysed protein, hydrolysed starch, natural flavours vegetable protein, hydrolysed vegetable protein.

another thing that rang a bell for me was that the carb sensitive may react to not only cottage cheese, broccoli etc but also malt vinegar and green/red pepper.

Just another reminder to keep listening, isnt it ?? I have had suspicions about malt vinegar......

Thanks Plum,
I've been way into msg lately. I have the worst habit of eating first then looking at the label, but I do learn from my mistakes Yesterday I had a whitecastle burger and it had msg. At the reward I had a rice krispie treat Yep msg too. Not to mention its the main ingredient in white chocolate covered oreos.
