Default Black Forest Ham

Does anyone know if Black Forest Ham has sugars in it? I asked at the deli and she stared blankly at me and said "Uh... we have honey ham"
But after some talking she managed to tell me that she knew it was smoked, other than that she seemed to not know anything.
I've tried looking up the nutritional info before on it, and cant find anything. Usually I can find the nutritional info on anything w/o any problems.
But regardless, I bought a half pound to snack on. Its really good fried too. I havent eaten much today though, as I'm unsure of carb content.

Ask the people at the deli if they can show you the nutritional label for the ham (they all have them). Most processed meats have some sugars in them, but usually they are very low giving a carb count of roughly 1 gram per ounce (often less, but I round up just to be safe), much like cheese. For the most part, you are best off not eating a lot of processed or smoked meats, mostly because of the nitrates but also because many of them are also very high in sodium. High sodium = water retention for most folks.
I'm not saying don't ever eat them, but don't make them your main protein source.

Hmmm.... I was searching for nutritional info, never thought to try the word facts.

And whats wrong with nitrates and sodium? Like water retention is just water weight, I'm drinking 2.5 litres a day and going to the washroom non stop.

Well....aside from being carcinogens, Nitrates are also known stallers for many people. Water retention isn't the end of the world, but it will also slow down weight loss.

"Weight" isnt the issue for me. I've already been dieting for a while and working out, I'm half way to where I want to be (was around 215 and am now 180, want 140-150.
I'm used to my weight not representing my fat loss, as I've been doubling muscle while cutting fat. So I dont rely on the scale, just by how I look and feel.
