Question Right Plan?

Hi-- I've decided to start a LC plan and I'm deciding between Protein Power or Atkins. If im not mistaken I heard that one of them allows caffeine while the other doesnt. Beacause I ama student I cant really do a no caffeine plan, so which of these two plans works best with caffeine. also, which are the best LC drinks to drink that have caffeine in them?

Thanks so much! Ive spent all my time tonight scanning these boards! they are so interesitng and informative! I cant wait till I figure out which program to use so i can go out and buy the book!

Thanks,
Hannah

Cool

Hi Hannah,

Dr Atkins suggests going off caffeine...BUT, many folk find they can still lose just fine while drinking coffee.

So I wouldn't use that as a guide. Just choose the plan you think you are most likely to stick to, and worry about the caffeine at a later time.

As for caffeine containing drinks, it's worth trying to do without soft drinks/sodas, especially at first. The artificial sweetener "aspartame" (Nutrasweet, Equal) is not recommended by Dr Atkins and many others.

Have you seen the Protein Power and Atkins websites? Perhaps the info there can help you decide.

All the best!

I am also a student and totally addicted to my coffee. I had given up sodas years ago, so that was no biggie. I have found (fortunately for me!) that coffee has not caused a stall. I use Splenda to sweeten it and heavy whipping cream.
