Default ?? on BFL exercise...please help

Okay, yesterday I did my first BFL workout-upper body. I don't think I did this correctly. I have read & re-read the book and I am still not clear. I just want to make sure I am doing this right.
Okay: I have to do 2 sets/body part. the first set for ex: Chest exercise: I do 5 sets of reps starting at 12 down to 6 and than back to 12reps. Resting a minute in between each rep. When I finish the last 12 rep, I go straight into the the next Chest exercise and only do one rep of 12?
Yesterday, I did the same number of reps as my first set for the second Chest exercise. I did this for each body part. Is this why I felt like crap? Was I suppose to have done only one rep for the 2nd set?
Thank you so much for all of your help

Hey bec!
I'm not sure if I understood that or not...my head is pounding and I am going to go rest, but I thought I'd try to answer.
If this is what you did...
dumbbell bench press
12X x #
10X x #
8...
6...
12...
then
dumbbell flyes
12X x #,
gradually increasing your weights each time.
hth,
Bren

Thanks for info Bren. I found out that I shouldn't have done 2 complete sets for each body part. That's what I did and that's probably why I felt so awful.
