Unhappy Russian Dressing

When I first started my low carb diet I had this Russian Dressing that I used for dipping cucumbers and I also put it on salads. The problem is I lost it. I know it has mayo and ketchup. And some something else. It was very simple to make and had a low low carb count. It tasted awesome. I can't even remember where I found it. And it's driving me crazy But if anyone has any ideas about a great Russian dressing that is simple and quick I would love their help.

I've been searching for new dressings myself and saw your "Russian Dressing" post and thought I'd found one I didn't have yet! Ok, now you got me curious and I WILL find a Russian Dressing somehow! It sounds GREAT!

Let the search begin!!!!!

By the way, your pix is one of the clearest and most flattering I've seen on here! Good job!

Ok, first hit.....what do ya think? Sounds do-able to me.

Emeril's Russian Dressing:
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chili sauce
1 tablespoon minced yellow onion
1 tablespoon minced celery
1 tablespoon minced parsley
1 tablespoon heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon Emeril's Red Pepper Sauce, or other hot sauce
Pinch sugar
Salt

In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and whisk until well blended. Adjust the seasoning to taste. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Chili sauce might be carby tho.

This one seems more carby, but maybe we can work around it...there's usually a way to LC any recipe!

Russian Dressing Recipe

1/2 cup thick chili sauce
2 cups mayonnaise sauce

(To make mayonnaise sauce or dressing: Mix 1 teaspoon of pepper, 2 teaspoons of mustard and 1 teaspoon of salt with 2 yolks of egg. Add 1/2 tablespoon of vinegar. Add 1.5 cups of olive oil gradually, stirring constantly. As soon as the mixture thickens, thin it with a little more vinegar. Proceed until two tablespoons of vinegar, and all the 1.5 cups of oil are used. If the oil is added too rapidly, mayonnaise will curdle. Smoothness can be restored by taking the yolk of another egg and adding to it little by little. The curdled mixture. Mayonnaise should be stiff enough to hold its shape.)

Mix the chili sauce with the mayonnaise thoroughly.

Ok, last one:

Russian Dressing
This popular dressing from the 1950's is making a comeback. It is traditionally used on the famous Reuben sandwich.
1 cup Mayonnaise
1/2 cup Chili sauce (prepared)
1/2 teaspoon Onion, minced
1/2 teaspoon Horseradish
1/8 teaspoon Paprika

Mix all ingredients well. Refrigerate
Serve over mixed green salads or on sandwiches
Makes about 1 1/2 cups

This seems to most LC. And I found a site with more dressings that you could make in a lifetime!

It's http://www.geocities.com/webcipes/dress.html

ENJOY!!

I just found my recipe...go figure that...lol...Try this.

1 cup mayo
1 Tbs. ketchup
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce
1 packet of equal.

I came up with 4-5 carbs for the whole dipping sauce. And a cup is a lot of dipping sauce...

Tell me if you like it
