Custom Avatar size

I have been reading on how to add a custom avatar to my profile.... and it is 100x100 pixels but the KB is too high.. will not accept ... anyone know how to adjust it so it is under 2000 bytes? here is the photo I would like to use.

hi Darci,

Try reducing the resolution, ie .. the number of pixels per inch. That should reduce the file size to 20,000 bytes or 20kb.

Yes, when I downloaded it into my image editor, it showed the resolution at 850 pixels per inch

What about the size? Mine shows it went from 37k to 7k

When I reduced to 75 pixels per inch, the file size dropped to 10kb.

I suppose at that point, I should've just uploaded .. but I always figure folks love playing with pictures as much as I do
