Default Cravings

Right now, the bananas and pears I keep for my son's lunches are screaming 'EAT ME' - I sooooo want eat some fruit. I'm only on my third day of induction, but I did not realize how much I would miss fruit!

Is this possibly due to the sugar content of fruit and my bodies way of reacting to sugar deprivation?

Can anyone offer some ideas on how to make the fruit cravings go away?

I will not give in.

You're deep in the throws of detox, kiwigirl You can help with the cravings by having lots of legal LC foods around that are high in protein. Your body can take protein and turn it into glucose (all of this is done in the absence of insulin so it is not stored as fat) and it will be used to satisfy that craving.

If it helps any it isnt your body craving the carbs/sweetness, it is your brain (so, it really is all in your head )

It will get better - honest.

Yep! Your brain is reacting to the lack of sugar. Be strong! The cravings will pass and you'll be very glad you didn't give in.

Today is my third day of induction. Yesterday I went to the store and like you as I walked down the aisles, the chocolate covered raisins and peanuts just wanted me to grab them and eat them. What's weird is that, that's stuff I don't normally eat but yesterday I was just screaming my name. I left the store, went home and had a piece of cheese, for some reason that satisfied me. I you want to eat something that tastes sweet, try the sugarless jello, it comes in all flavors and according to the label it has 0 carbos. Good luck and remain strong.

YAY! I resisted the urge! I went for a big walk after writing this thread - then I had some fake jelly with a dollop of cream and a few nuts - Craving gone!!!

No chance of me eating too much of that jelly stuff though - its disgusting!

Never thought I would be happy to find a dessert that revolted me
