Default The Eating Out Thread/ Best of...

Here's a thread for those of us who venture out to eat.

How difficult it is to find something of value that won't hurt our weight loss efforts....it's like searching for a needle in a haystack. Of course, we all know to order the burgers without the bun, ect.

Here's a couple of places who make it easier on us low-carbers.

* Hardee's/ Carl's. Hands down the best burger I have found. All sandwich items are available with the option of low carb. You don't have to explain it.
It comes wrapped in lettuce & then again in paper. Very easy to eat.

* Jimmy John's. Any sandwich....and make it an "unwich". BETTER than subway. Eat that, Jared.

* Penn Station. ANY of their sandwiches can be made into a salad. My favorite is the "Philly Cheese Steak". Subway tacks on $ for additional toppings, Penn does not (or least not here at my local store).

Feel free to add to this list and review my choices.

Well, I do not have a favorite low carb friendly restaurant per se, but my favorite dishes when out (I eat out a lot):

1. Japanese- sashimi! Especially salmon

2. Steak/seafood- shrimp cocktail (no sauce) and steamed clams/mussels in wine or butter

3. Diner- omelette (with cheeeese and mushrooms)

4. Mexican- ceviche de pescado and a salad with shrimp/scallops or shrimp faghitas withut the bread, rice and beans (I just use a fork to eat the lettuce, tomato, salasa, guacomole, sour cream, cheese, shrimp, grilled peppers/onions...)

5. Greek- salad, tzatiki served with cucumber slices, olive plate, flaming cheese, baba gnouish sevred with cucumbers....

6. Crab places are the BEST

Ooh...love the salad bar at ruby tuesdays

Waffle House has an awesome Philly Cheese Steak Omlette.

Ruby Tuesdays does some burgers right.
