Wink Let's Roll!

Well, its not my first day, but its my 4th day and I am following Protein Power. I've never before decided to seek support and I am hoping that this will help me get through a successful diet this time. You know the look, the one where you glance at the mirror and finally see the "real" you and say Holy Crap is that me? YEP.....scared the bejeebers outta me so this has got to be it. I want to be around to see my grandson graduate and get married and I am tired of being TIRED. Hopefully I will make many friends and acquaintances here......and give support as well as get it.....Thanks

Hi Becca!
Welcome!
Yes, you'll get loads of support here - I love this place!
Have you had a good look around the site? There's all sorts of helpful stuff here. If you look at the orange bar at the top of the page, "Low Carb Tips" is very helpful. Also, in the "Newbies Questions" forum, Karen's "Hot Links" may answer many questions you didn't know you had!
Becca, one of the best ways to get support and make friends is to start a journal. You'll find out how by reading the "sticky" at the top of this thread.
Good luck, matey.

Rosebud

Talking Glad to Be Here

Thanks Rosebud....I feel at home already. I have been looking around the site and will definitely check out the "journal" info. I have started to write down everything that I eat, but was not sure the best way to go about it. Speaking of eating, its time for a late lunch. I will be back to visit my new friends often!

Greetings and welcome aboard, Becca!

As for the best way to record stuff in your journal - there is no best way. There's only how you think it makes the most sense to you on that particular day. Look through the journals and you will see all kinds of formats - and you will see that the format that a given person uses changes and evolves over time as they change and evolve with this WOL. So see what others are doing and if any of those ideas strike you as good and then take the plunge and go from there - you will not regret it.

Keep the Faith!

Hi, becca Welcome!

You will find a lot of support, and information, here. You're starting off with a terrific attitude -- you sound like the Can Do type

Starting a journal is a great idea -- and I hope you'll have the time to poke around the site, as well as the forum. There's a lot of information here.

Best of luck to you, and please keep us posted on your progress!

Default Journal

Ah, thanks for the tip, after dinner I am going to go and look at the journal ideas for help. I'lve just been making a list, and have not been eating hardly any carbs, and now I better start counting. Hey, by the way, how do you post a pic on your profile? I cant figure that out. Anybody can e-mail me privately to let me know so we don't clog up the board with that stuff.

Are those George Forman grills any good?
Thanks guys

Great photo, Becca! To post a picture under your name, go into your Profile, then Edit Options. What you want to do is attach a custom avatar. Click on the Change Avatar bar, and then follow the directions.

I have a George Foreman grill -- the good side is that it cooks things much faster, because it applies heat to both sides. The down side, for this WOE, is that it's slanted, so the fat drains off (into a little tray). I find that leaves the meat quite dry -- and besides, I want the fat! I've solved this by putting a book under the grill to lift it so it's even

Ah Thanks a bunch for that tip about the forman grill. I saw the little tray and wondered about that, but hey the book will work!!! I will be able to change my avatar now, thanks for that too, the photo is a couple years old, but I am wearing my favorite t-shirt from Phantom of the Opera...my favorite broadway show. This is a good beginning for me on the WOE as you all say, this is a great support site. Talk later everyone!
