Smile Good Morning, Everyone!

I'm new to Atkins; today is the morning of day 3. I've stayed under the 20 carb limit so far, and enjoyed the Atkins pancakes and syrup. I'm always looking for tasty recipes, and perhaps my second biggest food challenge (next to kissing carbs goodbye) will be finding tasty ways to prepare fish (I like very little; tuna salad, and breaded fish sticks/filet is about my limit until now). I bought flounder and some Mrs. Pauls lemon-pepper whitefish fillets, so I'll see how I do with those.

In the news that isn't part of this major change in my life-
I'm very happily closing in on the 4th year of my marriage, and I'm married to a wonderful man. Up until about 2 months ago, he was speaking ill of the idea of dieting (Why be miserable 3 times a day if you aren't miserable the rest of the time?). After we went to my doctor and I'd made clear that I was miserable everytime I looked in the mirror and put on a swim suit, he agreed to help me by joining me on my new diet. This is a HUGE sacrifice for him to make; he's a big fan of starches and he even went off caffeine for me!

I'm a substitute teacher; he's a network support engineer for the state's ISP. No kids yet, but we decided to wait until I was around 28 or so, in hopes of making ourselves better parents when we start. We have a pet bunny, BB King, and I absolutely adore him. Of course, that means that I'm really aware when I'm actually eating bunny food!

This is running long, so I'll cut this short and start exploring the site some more when I get home from church this afternoon.

It sounds like you are off to a good start, and how blessed are you to have such a wonder DH????

What a great decision you have made to lowcarb! When you do have children you'll be at a healthier weight & will have the energy required to keep up with him/her/them as they grow!
