Default Does rice makes you sleepy?

I have slowly started to eat few spoonfuls of rice a day. But other than that I have kept to my induction diet. I am on my 4th week of Atkins.

I have noticed that as soon as I consume the rice, I get VERY sleepy. Is this normal?

very normal.

Explanation is probably the insulin response...sugar (rice and potatoes and bread are quickly converted to sugar--even before they hit your stomach) triggering insulin, high then low blood sugar (reactive hypoglycemic)...but also could be that you are sensitive (like allergic, but not as bad) to the food.

A great thing about LCing is that it cleans our systems out...and we can clearly see the symptoms of bad-for-us food as soon as we eat them. We probably felt tired and awful and sugar-hungover all the time before...but now, after several days of clarity, we really notice those rotten feelings. Good for you for noticing it...these sorts of self-awareness can help keep us on track through the plateaus and temptations later on.
