Lost 4 pounds since I posted last. Would like to pick up the pace so I will be controlling portions this week. I keep reading about the water issue and will try to increase water as I decrease portions. I seems to do better on diet during the winter. I also will try this week to eat more fish, something I really don't like. So here goes and here's to a great week.

Four pounds is a hefty chunk of change Good going!

Best of luck on your goals. I think devoting a week to focusing on one skill is a good one. I've dedicated this one to water and vegetables

Just a thought, Misselly. If it aint broke why fix it? Controling portions might be throwing a wrench into something that's rolling along smoothly. Increasing water is a good idea; eating less is generally not. You need to eat enough to keep your body fueled and happy. Instead of eating less, try eating more frequent smaller meals. Spreading your calories and carbs out over the day will keep insulin stabilized and your metabolism up.

My 2 cents,
Nat

Thanks for your comments....I have decided to try and control portions because I find that if I eat volumes, I do gain back some weight. Fortunetly, its down 5 up 4 down up 2 down 1 up 3 down 1 up 2 down 2. I thot that controlled food portions would stop this up and down cycle...????

The up down cycle is quite common in weight loss, Misselly. Some go down / up / down / up; others go down / plateau / down / plateau. The important thing is that the general trend is down; weight loss is rarely straight down, just as weight gain is rarely straight up. If you watch the numbers you'll see the patter and learn to not let those ups or plateaus get you down (sorry for the pun ); they are quite normal. If it helps weigh once a week or less.

Do becareful you don't restrict your calories too much; 10 - 12 times your body weight is what you should be aiming for to satisfy basic metabolic funtions. Going below that runs the risk of your body deciding there's an impending famine; it will start retaining water and fat in an effort to prepare.
