Curious - what does it use for sweetener?

I'm surprised that there would be no carbs at all - unless it's liquid Splenda??

I really like this stuff. I also tried the Ruby Red Grapefruit for the first time this a.m. and I like that, too.

The ingredient list is: Citric acid for tartness, calcium citrate, maltodextrin, aspartame (sweetner), ascorbic acid, magnesium oxide, less than 2% of natural and artificial flavor, calcium carbonate, acesulfame potassium (sweetner), xanthan and cellulose gums, artificial colors...

So the sweetners are aspartame and acesulfame potassium -- both in powdered form (hence the maltodextrin) and so there HAS to be some carbs in it. The serving size on the package is 8 fl oz and says 0 carbs...I would guess it's probably one of those cases where there is 0.9999 g in that 8-oz serving so I think I would go ahead and count each glass as "one carb" per.

But it's good stuff -- specially when you just need a change from H2O and if aspartame doesn't slow/stall your weight loss. As with all things...YMMV.

Talking Actually . . . . look for the pre-made!

Actually, if you buy the pre-made 10oz bottles of Sunrise, it's made with Splenda. In fact, all of the pre-made Crystal Light products are made with Splenda (and Ace K) instead of aspartame - weird, but true! Here are the ingredients: water, contains less than 2% of natural and artificial flavor; ascorbic acid (vitamin C); calcium lactate; citric acid;x anthum and cellulose gums (provide body); modified cornstarch; glycerol ester of wood rosin; sucralose and acesulfame potassium (sweeteners); yellow 5; yellow 6; sodium benzoate; potassium sorbate, and calcium disodium EDTA (preservatives). Calories 5, sodium 20mg, total carb 0mg, protein 0g

We love the Sunrise! It's a great sub for OJ in the morning! I tried the LC low sugar types of OJ in the dairy section, but they are still too high in carbs for me. All the crystal light drinks taste good I think. Sunrise and Raspberry Ice are my favs! If I need to count them as 1 carb they are still worth it! K

Default Be careful of Aspartame...

Side effects of Aspartame, as posted in another thread...

Toxicity Effects of Aspartame Use

Selection of adverse effects from short-term and/or long-Term use
Note: It often takes at least sixty days without *any* aspartame or nutrasweet to see a significant improvement. Improvement in health is also often accompanied by weight loss. Check all labels very carefully (including vitamins and pharmaceuticals). Look for the word "aspartame" on the label and avoid it. (Also, it is a good idea to avoid "acesulfame-k" or "sunette.") Finally, avoid getting nutrition information from junk food industry PR organizations such as IFIC or organizations that accept large sums of money from the junk and chemical food industry such as the American Dietetic Association.

I tried the Sunrise this morning and it is delicious. Our store only carries the powder of that, but I got the strawberry-kiwi. I found the strawberry-kiwi to be way too sweet for my taste but diluting it way down to about 3 parts water to 1 part crystal light made it taste wonderful too. Thanks for that idea!!!
