Kiwifi,
THANKS for the recommendation . Last time when we were there we DID have Pencarrow Martinborough 2001 Pinot Noir to this meals:
NATURAL HERB SALAD
Fresh field greens, basil, dill, cilantro, mint, parsley, chervil, in a sweet vinaigrette
TURNER VENISON MEDALLIONS - appetizer
The finest quality venison in the world - perfectly aged Turner Venison medallions, seared rare, served with a spiced fig compote in a filo parcel, finished with a raspberry red wine sauce
TURNER VENISON STEAK
Minimum 14-day aged Turner Venison steak , pan-seared, oven-finished, celery root purée, caramelized cippolini onions, mushrooms, shallots, finished with a classic pinot noir demi-glace
Yesterday we had another pinot noir Martinborough Wineyard, Martinborough 2001. It was recommended by the waiter as another (he did remember that we had Pencarrow last time) great wine to our meals:
TURNER LOBSTER BISQUE
Fresh Turner Lobster stock made from fresh Turner Loster bodies, then we add chunks of fresh Turner Lobster meat
TURNER KING SALMON SALAD
Crispy-skin, fresh Turner New Zealand King Salmon, pan-roasted, served on top of fresh garden greens, rocket, yellow and red cherry tomatoes, with lemon vinaigrette
TURNER VENISON CHOP
The finest venison in the world - Minimum 14-day aged, thick double-cut Turner Venison rib chop, pan-seared, sautéed asparagus, finished with an orange cognac demi
I must admit this restaurant is our first New Zealand adventure - and everything (meal, wine, service, interior, etc.) is "perfect''. The taste of these dishes were very unique, and very different from the similar dishes from other countries. We plan to go back to check other seafood, beef dishes.
I will check our wine stores to see the New Zealand selection, and hope to get help from you to find the best ones.
