Default Macrobiotics

I am considering a macrobiotics "diet" as a way of watching what I eat and have better portions and cleaning out my system. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience eating this way and what benefits it offers, and also how low in carbs and fat it is? It seems to be to be an effective way of eating and I would like to consider it not a diet but actually a new way to eat.

Macrobiotics is very high carbs. It is centered around whole grains, beans, and vegetables.

Here is some info for you... I don't think atkins/macrobiotic would be very compatable (sp?) but after an induction you could probably blend it with SBD.

Best of luck in your journey!

What kind of things/research has led you to this after following a low carb diet and losing well?
What are the advantages you see?
How obsessive do you want to be about your habits?

If you're looking for a low carb plan that takes a "cleansing" approach, consider either Atkins KIS or Fat Flush by Ann Louise Gittleman. Atkins KIS is not discussed in the book; it's just a concept. It's basically induction without dairy and artificial sweeteners, so all you're eating is unprocessed meats, veggies, eggs and fats. Fat Flush is a plan centered around taking care of your liver for better fat burning. More info here.
