Question excess belching

Ever since I started on this WOL i can't stop belching. It's not every once in awhile but once every 10 mins and sometimes more. I was wondering if anyone else suffers from this too. It's very inconvenient because I am at work and when I feel the need to belch and I have to duck behind a corner. If I hold it in it becomes very uncomfy...

That's strange, because since I left the carbs by the wayside, the belching and other gas symptoms have all but disappeared. The only time I experience it is if I have some cucumber in my salad or eat a pickle.

Are you drinking lots of water? More than normal? Drinking with a straw? You could be swallowing air. Perfectly normal. I'd say, develop your technique for burp delivery. See if you can cause books to fall off the bookshelf with the resonance.

Default Frankenfood?

Clean LC food generally won't make me have any gas effects, but any of the sugar alcohols can be QUITE expressive, as can hidden carbs. Can you try an isolation diet to figure out where the problem is?

In the meantime, Gas-X (or generic) might be useful. Pretty fast-acting.

I don't drink soda so thats not my problem, but I do drink all my water through a straw. I also don't attribute it to sugar alcohols either because I rarely ea frankenfoods. But I can say that I have virtually elminated gas that comes from he other end if you catch my drift.

Well.. two things. You swallow air everytime you drink something. I think drinking with a straw makes you swallow more air. If you're drinking more, you'll swallow more air as well. Some people actually develop the habit of swallowing air just normally. I've heard Dr. Dean Edell discuss it. I'd be willing to be its just air you're swallowing.

Go to google and type "cause of belching" and you'll find articles like this:

http://www.medicinenet.com/Intestin...nce/article.htm

Quote:
What causes belching?

The ability to belch is almost universal. Belching, also known as burping, is the act of expelling gas from the stomach out through the mouth. The usual cause of belching is a distended (inflated) stomach caused by swallowed air. The distention of the stomach causes abdominal discomfort, and the belching expels the air and relieves the discomfort. The common reasons for swallowing large amounts of air (aerophagia) are gulping food or drink too rapidly, anxiety, and carbonated beverages. People are often unaware that they are swallowing air. "Burping" infants during bottle or breast feeding is important in order to expel air in the stomach that has been swallowed with the formula or milk.
