Default saturated fat

okay, I know to stay away from trans-fat, and I know which fats are "good' like olive, flax etc. BUT I was wondering if there are any studies showing that saturated fat is necessary and good for you -in the abscence of excess carbs of course.

Anybody?

Well in DANDR Dr. Atkins says thats its okay to eat when you are low-carbing, because since you are in ketosis the fats are used for energy and not really absorbed by the body like they would be if your body was using carbs for energy.. i still try to keep my saturated fats reasonable though.

you'll find that the good saturated fats contain medium chain triglycerides (MCTs).... it'll be in the coconut link above for sure.

Thank you, thank you! I had a sneaking suspicion that this was true. And it explains my love of goatcheese.
