Default Daily Mail Low-Carb Points Diet

The DM is publishing it's own version of what they consider to be a low carb diet.

Quote:
Starts today: The amazing weight loss programme that combines the dramatic results of Atkins and the simplicity of Weight Watchers ... Low-Carb Points Diet

It appears to use the Glycaemic Index as its basis - and also has certain rules to follow - for example, have one portion of carbs with each meal (eg beans or lentils, bread, cereal, pasta, rice or potatoes)

So, not really a low carb diet after all, just another attempt to jump on the bandwagon

I have it here in front of me. What a ripoff!

"The Low Carb Points Diet. As effective as Atkinds but without the risks. As simple as Weight Watchers....." blah blah blah

*gag*

As soon as they mentioned low fat spread I ran a mile.

I completely agree, I decided to get the Mail this week to have a look - what a complete load of pseudo-scientific nonsense. It's basically a bog-standard low-calorie, low-fat, points-counting diet. How on earth they have the gall to claim it's low-carb beggars belief. I have to wonder if these people aren't deliberately trying to discredit low-carb diets by publishing diets they know won't work. Or is that a bit too conspiracy theory?

I saw this yesterday and it looks a bugger's muddle - i.e. a bit of every diet going. What a load of rubbish - it can't deceide if it's low fat, low carb or low calorie

I didn't manage to see the diet in the Mail. I was looking for it in the paper at work, but someone had cut it out. Judging by the earlier comments, I take it I didn't miss much. No doubt it will be printed and on the shelves at a bookstore near you soon .
