Default Discouraged...need some encouragement

Last night hubby informed me that the SF chocolate sauce I have in my coffee every day (only carbs in it are there) is NOT low carb! It has 14 carbs, and none of them are sugar alcohol! **Note: I don't eat Franken Foods often, and usually stay completely away from sugar alcohol**I've been drinking them for at least a week, which would be the second week of my induction. I've been great except for that, and have kept adjusting my food until I am strictly following it, including exersize. I didn't know because it's at a coffee stand and they assured me it had very little. Grrr!!

Also, this headache is not going away. My muscles are a little sore, and I feel a bit more tired than usual. Harder to get up in the morning. This after two weeks of LC. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled with the six pounds I've lost (Now I know it woulde have been more if I hadn't had the stupid coffees!) I'm just trying to figure out a few things.

1. Do I need to restart induction because of the coffees?

2. Will this headache ever go away? It's the kind of headach that usually requires exedrin, but that hurts my stomach sometimes, and I cant' be taking it daily.

3. I haven't been taking any supplements because the Centrum I got has iron, and I was afraid I'd get...stopped up. NO problems with that right now, mostly due to caffeine (one cup per day). Is it ok to take one with iron? If not, which one? I saw a "carb smart" from centrum. Is that worth anything?

4. Hubby has been having leg and butt cramps in the mornings. He's not strictly following induction but looks better IMO, obviously because of his eating habits now. Is calcium the solution to that?

5. The last two days (after having those stupid carb filled coffees for five days) my keto has been "trace" if at all. I know trace counts, but I'm worried I could be convincing myself there is a change in the color...if there is, it's really slight. Is that because of the coffees too?

Please know that I'm convinced this is the WOE for us (Well, with afew fruits thrown in) for life. I"ve lost weight, been in ketosis (although trace for a couple days), and I don't have stomach acid problems like I did, which is wierd, considering my diet! I walk every couple of days, and am truly happier. I'm just a bit discouraged (and long-winded!)

Thanks for listening

First off I would not redo induction again. Just keep going, while cutting out the chocolate sauce. Hey you lost 6 pounds so something was right. I wonder if the headaches are because of the extra carbs, you might had been getting in to many carbs to really detox your system. If that is so, the headaches may go on a few more days while you body uses up the extra carbs. Give it several days and see.

You really need supplements! You are not getting in either one or two items which is causing the cramps. That being either Potassium, Magnesium or both.

Now if you are worried about stopping up, the Magnesium will take care of that. Start out with 250mg twice a day. I use to take it with breakfast and lunch. This should take care of everything. Good luck!

So, rather than taking a multivitamin, you suggest buying separate supplements of certain things?

Dr. Atkins says you don't get enough potassium by just taking a multi.

I would take the multi, with the Magnesium, and it wouldn't hurt to throw in some calcium. As long as the multi has Potassium in it you are set. I say this because I think One-A-Day Weight Smart doesn't.
