Use the Search word in the green stripe above here to search for it. And look in the CKD forum and General Exercise to learn more about it.

CKD Cyclical ketogenic diet. CKd is used by bodybuilders to maintain muscle and loose fat. After doing LC for a long time a persons thyroid activity slows down and so does metabolism, then weightloss. In CKD one is weight lifting and muscles use stored glycogen for energy. At the end of a 5 day "induction" type diet. We actually kick ourselves out of Ketosis and switch to a low fat high carb diet for 36 to 48 hours. The diet adds controlled amounts of Glucose (simple sugars) at an amount a person can absorb into their muscles therfore refilling muscle glycogen.
Too much sugar bleeds into fat storage. a person doing CKD will typically gain 6-9 pounds in 36 hours but will lose that + 1 pound by the end of the week.
For more info check out the CKD/ Body Opus Sub Forum.
